Oxford Food Hub is a charity that redistributes surplus food in order to reduce food waste and alleviate food poverty. The team rescue excess food from wholesalers, supermarkets and restaurants and then supply it to charities and community organisations across Oxfordshire.
Over the past couple of years Lucy Properties have been working with Oxford Food Hub and making donations, which have been greatly appreciated. We spoke to OFH and they told us that “the major trend from the end of 2022 and deep into mid-2023 has been a lack of surplus food reaching us. We now support over 200 different charities and community groups with free food, a lot of which are in need of more food from us due to increased demand. The donations from Lucy Properties have made a huge difference at a really difficult time for us.”
In October 2023 OFH will be taking part in the Oxford Half Marathon and are looking for people to run for them. This can make such a huge difference to the fundraising – last year Team OFH raised nearly £10,000!
Further information on OFH’s amazing work and how you register to run the Oxford Half can be found on their website: Oxford Food Hub (formerly Oxford Food Bank).
