Lucy Properties was way ahead of the curve regarding the new Tenant Fees Act, which from 1 June 2019 banned letting fees paid by tenants in the private rented sector in England. The Tenant Fees Act 2019 can be seen as a victory for tenants, but actually all our tenants have always been winners. We have never charged any fees to rent a property, and provide a host of other benefits that makes renting from us a pleasure.
We’re a rarity in this market – we’re a landlord and not an agent, and our properties are all high quality. Our ethos is that we only rent out somewhere that we would be happy to call home ourselves – and we ensure it stays in top condition. We know we provide excellent service – the majority of our tenants come to us through word of mouth or by having been tenants previously.
Lucy Properties have dedicated Property Managers, and a strong and reliable Maintenance Team, many of whom have worked for Lucy for a number of years. Both teams know our properties inside and out, always delivering a very high standard of property management.
At Lucy’s we also believe in providing benefits that really help people enjoy their home, for instance we know that gardens can be a big part of that, but need a lot of work to keep them looking good. We take the strain and make them only a place to relax, thanks to our free gardening services. What’s more as we believe strongly in preserving wildlife and biodiversity our gardens are currently going through an ecological redesign for the enjoyment of our tenants.
So, although the government has had to legislate to force agents to do what we have been doing for years, it is still hard to compete with our service levels and ethics.
